Age Group Classification
The age group in which a child will swim for the entire summer season is based solely on that child’s age as of June 15, 2008. For example, an 8 year old child turning 9 on or before June 15, 2008 will be considered a 9 year old, and must swim in the 9-10 age group for the entire summer. Another 8 year old who turns 9 after June 15, 2008 will be considered an 8 year old and will swim in the 7-8 age group for the entire summer.

A note about A/B Divisions within age groups:
In order to provide all swimmers with an opportunity to compete against other swimmers with similar swimming abilities, our team has created an A and B division. The A division is composed of the fastest line up on the day of the meet, usually including about 7 or 8 boys and girls from each age group. Due to swimmers’ improvements and vacation schedules, a swimmer can be in a B meet one week and an A meet the next. Make sure to always check the heat sheets to know which meets you’re in!
